when they’re taking a breather, on a coffeee break, and I really don’t think they should say “oops” when they delete a question, it’s not like they did it on accident–”oops” should be abandoned by the time you’re four, it’s just not cute when adults say it–”Oops, I just crashed into your car”–Ooops, I just ran over your dog”–doesn’t have nearly the same calming effect in adult life

Oh,I don’t know. There’s only so much you can say if you accidently run over a dog or delete some harmless old man’s yahoo account. i think it’s pretty much the same. “Oops” is kind of inane,but hey,what else can ya say?

“Oops”, I think, is supposed to have a playful, innocent air about it. “Oops, golly gosh, would you look at that, tee hee!”
Yahoo is anything but playful and innocent. They no more “oops” than a hunter with a deer right between his cross hairs.
You won’t hear him saying “Oops, darn my bad luck, I shot a deer, my bad, tee hee”.
