Car “accident” need advice?

Question by K.: Car “accident” need advice?
Ok, so today i was driving, and i just pulled out of an intersection onto a county highway in wisconsin. Just as i was accelerating, out of no where a car came speeding up from behind, didnt see me, and swerved at the last moment into the ditch and spun out. The car drove back out of the ditch and was about to continue driving away when it saw that i pulled over, so it turned around and pulled over behind me.

Both of us got out and looked at his car (he never hit me at all) and he saw no damage, except some grass stuck between his tire and rim.

He seemed to be in a hurry and left the seen quickly. We never exchanged any info because he left so quickly.

Do i need to worry about him coming back to sue me later? or am i ok? he may have grabbed my license plate number, but could he prove anything with just that if no police were called to the scene and there were no witnesses? could i be contacted by police? or am i fine because he left and there was no damage done to me? I didnt have a phone so i couldnt call police, so i left too about 5 minutes after he did after i relaxed for a few minutes.

Please give me some advice!!! :) thank you!

There’s very little the other driver can do if he finds damage later on and tries to sue or claim against your insurance. It would be your word against his, and from what you’ve written he wouldn’t have a leg to stand on.

It does read as though you may have had an element of fault if you drove onto the highway in front of another vehicle, causing him to swerve. It’s not 100% clear from your question though, as you’d want to be confident about safe distances and whether he was speeding.

If it makes you feel any better, in case he does try to claim later, you could write a clear statement or affadavit now and have it dated and witnessed – so you’re clear about it. Just hold on to it though, as there’s no point in raising alarm bells unless he tries to make a claim.

Question by Jellybean xOx: Horrific accident? i liked it maybe yoouu do too? xOxOx?
A blonde had just totaled her car in a horrific accident. Miraculously, she managed to pry herself from the wreckage without a scratch and was applying fresh lipstick when the state trooper arrived.
“My God!” the trooper gasped. “Your car looks like an accordion that was stomped on by an elephant. Are you OK ma’am?”
“Yes, officer, I’m just fine” the blonde chirped.
“Well, how in the world did this happen?” the officer asked as he surveyed the wrecked car.
“Officer, it was the strangest thing!” the blonde began. I was driving along this road when from out of nowhere this TREE pops up in front of me. So I swerved to the right, and there was another tree! I swerved to the left and there was ANOTHER tree! I served to the right and there was another tree! I swerved to the left and there was ….”
“Uh, ma’am”, the officer said, cutting her off, “There isn’t a tree on this road for 30 miles. That was your air freshener swinging back and forth.”

How likely is it for the new hybrid vehicles to be totaled in a low speed car accident than older cars?

Question by matroidman: How likely is it for the new hybrid vehicles to be totaled in a low speed car accident than older cars?
I was in a low speed crash with a Prius and wonder if that type of car has a higher probability of being totaled than cars more “traditionally” engineered.

Accident Prevention & Warning Film: You’re Driving 90 Horses (1940s)

Accident Prevention & Warning Film: You’re Driving 90 Horses (1940s)

This vintage film is a wonderful way to advocate safer driving techniques. Statistics prove that a ghastly number of deaths each year occur from reckless driving and accidents, all of which could have been easily prevented. You’re Driving 90 Horses depicts a number of common traffic mistakes: drivers merging without looking, not stopping for pedestrians, and passing vehicles when and where they should not. The three Cs-concentration, control, and courtesy-are the backbone to any good driving, an
