Last Saturday someone hit my Rio in the left rear wheel well, they crushed the door shut and did damage to all three panels in the area of impact. Now I’m waiting for my insurance company to decide what they’re going to do, I’m afraid they’ll write the car off as totalled. If they do that, what sort of compensation could I expect?
Otherwise what can I do to get a replacement vehicle or repairs? My dad and the insurance agent said something about getting a salvage title and doing the repairs myself, if I do that does the insurance company help cover the costs still?

I’m about to get insurance for a salvaged car…. but i’m going to pay for a whole year in advance to save money….My question now is what happens if you get insurance from one of these small insurance company (not one of the big corporate ones) and by some misfortune it goes out of business before my year coverage is up.

1) What happens to my policy?
2) Am I still covered?
3) Does my money get lost if no???
4) Do i get a refund or something?

I bought a Honda Civic EX 95 yesterday, the mileage on the Odometer reads 87k, but I confirmed after purchase via Carfax that it is invalid. The actually mileage is 160k. The car is a Salvage title, the seller said it was due to theft, but on CARFAX is says the following

TOTAL LOSS VEHICLE
Title or registration issued
to insurance company

SALVAGE TITLE/CERTIFICATE ISSUED

JUNK TITLE/CERTIFICATE ISSUED
REBUILT TITLE ISSUED

It being Salvaged isn’t my number one concern, but I am sure it was in a wreck and the front right ball joint is messed up, and the A/C doesn’t work anymore after 1 day.

I looked the guy up on craigslist after I found out about the mileage and saw he is selling another car with 87k miles on it.

I don’t know what to do now. I paid $3,500 for it, I’m still a minor too.
The guy was kind of shady, I called the police but they said its a civil dispute and that I need to go to court over it.

We met at a parking lot and then drove over to the bank and I paid with a check.

I have his “address” assuming it is the real one, but I can’t really just drive over there and demand the money back, and the police probably won’t come to help.

I recently helped sell my father’s vehicle. It had a clean title, clean Carfax report, everything was solid. The buyer purchased it AS-IS and there was a bill of sale. Days later the buyer called me stating that while in the process of getting the vehicle insured they disclose to her its been in an accident a year ago worth $3700 in damage and she then wanted to return the car.

Unaware of any accident history myself, I call my father up and get his side of the story.. he told me it was in a minor parking lot incident, no police report was filed, and the damage was very light, only cosmetic (bumper cover, there’s no structural damage whatsoever), and has proof the claims were only 1/3 of the number the insurance company gave the buyer. Nevertheless she’s quite adamant with wanting to return the car.

The title has already been transferred, are we under any legal obligation to take the vehicle back?

Am i gonna have trouble at the time of getting plates or getting my drivers license for the motorcycle? Will i be able to get and insurance company to accept my motorcycle?
