Question by dtonnies3: what can I do about travel expenses?
I will start as an independent sales rep for manufacturing companies next week. I will need to travel and rent hotel rooms, also meals, gas, car depreciation, and entertainment for customers. This will all be out of pocket. Are there tax breaks for this, and are there are any other option to recover these losses other than Sell a lot of stuff?

I guess you should think about this before accepting assignment.

Btw I suggest you to spend money keeping your satisfied commission amount in hand. If you are not satisfied with the commission then its better to look for another ooportunity. If you don’t have another option then cut the spending per sales and try to live with that.
